About Therapy
Therapy can help you work through difficult times you are encountering in the present and also help to heal past traumas. Counseling is also useful when you are in a life transition or feeling stuck. We all find that we repeat patterns in our lives and relationships, whether personal or at work. I will help guide you in your own process of discovering what your patterns are and why they developed, so you can be happier and more in control of your life and your choices.
Examples of areas on which I work with clients are:
- Career and Life Transitions
- Differentiation, which is separating from your family and finding your own way
- Couples improving their communications and connection
- Depression
- Self-esteem
- Anxiety and Panic Disorders
- Work Stress, Conflict and Dissatisfaction
- Grief and Loss
- Spirituality and Existential Questions
I am trained in and use a mix of modalities, such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy and Jungian Analytic Psychology in working with clients. Both of these orientations address the different, and sometimes conflicting, forces at work in each of us. Internal Family Systems has proven to be very effective in working with unprocessed feelings and experienes that continue to impact our everyday lives. Jungian Analytic Psychology focuses on becoming more aware of your unconscious beliefs and also works with your dreams.
In addition to my psychotherapy practice, I am a lawyer and have enjoyed a successful legal career working in many different environments, including big and medium-sized firms, large corporations, start-ups and even as a sole practitioner. My legal training and experience help me relate well to the pressures faced by those working in similar professions, including lawyers, doctors, consultants, executives, technology professionals, entrepreneurs and graduate students furthering their carrers. If you are assessing your personal and professional choices, or if you are working on increasing the balance and level of happiness in your life, I can help you sort through those questions to arrive at your own answers.
