Mediation

The Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) process helps you resolve disputes without litigation. ADR is usually less formal, less expensive, and less time-consuming than a courthouse trial.

The most common types of ADR are mediation, arbitration, settlement conferences and neutral evaluation. The reality of the legal system is that the vast majority of lawsuits do not go to trial; instead, they are resolved through the ADR process. My approach includes working closely with clients to determine the best dispute resolution process to meet their needs. I keep an open mind as to how we can best – and most cost-effectively – secure your goals in both preventing and resolving disputes.

I practice integrative mediation, which offers our clients a holistic, creative, and affordable approach to dispute resolution that attends to their psychological and emotional, as well as their legal and financial concerns. Mediation is a facilitated problem-solving process, which supports two or more individuals in addressing their concerns in a meaningful and mindful manner. Interpersonal conflict can be challenging for many parties to address, especially when emotions are part of the equation, which they almost always are. Our team of skilled mediators provides an environment that supports the parties, manages the emotional climate, and also assists them in identifying their issues. Through this process, the parties have an opportunity to co-create resolutions that are both fair and realistic. This process is suitable for family law cases and disputes, probate and elder disputes, as well as community-based and business disputes.
